Our health careers team specializes in assisting current UCSF students and recent alumni (up until 1 year out from graduation) who are pursuing health professional clinical career paths with their career and professional development concerns and goals.
ATTENTION STUDENTS:
Starting 9/12/24, we’ll be using a new appointment scheduling system. If you’re familiar with our previous system, you’ll notice some changes, but rest assured, the process for booking appointments will remain very similar. We appreciate your understanding as we make this transition!

30-Minute Virtual Career Counseling Appointment - Bookable 14 days in advance
20 Minute Virtual Same Day Appointment - Bookable 24 hours in advance
30-Minute Virtual Document Review Appointment - Bookable 21 days in advance
These appointments can only be booked 21 days in advance, meaning that appointments will only be visible on a rolling basis 21 days ahead of the appointment time.
Topics addressed in this appointment are limited to reviewing application materials
- i.e.; CV, Resume, Cover Letter, Letter of Intent, MSPE, etc reviews only. We do not review personal statements.
Career Counseling Staff:
In addition to developing career education resources and programs, all of our career counseling staff are available to see students for any one of our three career counseling appointment types.

Our team collects appointment scheduling preferences data to continually reassess and update our counseling appointment services. Therefore, if you can't find and book an appointment (e.g. there's no appointments available) Please take our brief 5 question Anonymous Survey to share your appointment booking preferences.
Health Professional Appointment Booking Policies:
- To maintain availability, each person can only book one appointment, with one counselor at a time.
- Please cancel your appointment within 24 hours of the appointment if you cannot make it. Students and postdocs who fail to cancel their appointments 3 times will be ineligible from accessing appointments for the remainder of that quarter, so please cancel and reschedule.
- Each person is limited to a maximum of 6 appointments per academic year.
- Health Professional appointments are exclusively for current UCSF Health Professional and clinically focused master's students. If you book an Health Professional appointment for assistance unrelated to a health practice career path, your appointment will be automatically canceled, and you will be encouraged to rebook with the appropriate team.
- Appointments booked in violation of any of our policies will automatically be canceled.
